The control and monitoring of urine pH can prevent kidney stones from developing or, if they do form, allow them to be excreted more easily by inhibiting the growth of crystals that have already formed.

There are currently very limited treatment options for preventing the recurrence of kidney stones and avoiding surgery to remove them - not to mention the agony that stones cause, and the fact that they can be a life-threatening emergency.

Controlling your urine pH and the crystallisation of certain substances in your urine can help to prevent stones developing.

Potassium citrate is a treatment for uric acid ad cystine stones (related to low urine pH). However this is unpleasant and has side effects so many patients won't tolerate it.

Lit-Control pH Up has been clinically proven to be MORE effective at controlling urine pH and it has no side effects. It also helps prevent crystals from forming, and if they have formed, helps prevent them from becoming too large to excrete.

Lit-Control pH Down is the first treatment to become available for other types of stones, and it has been clinically proven to be effective.

Lit-Control pH Balance is also unique. It can be used for all types of calcium stones without altering your pH. In some cases, maintaining your pH rather than changing it can be important.
